Calkins Harbor isn't a place . . . it's a state of mind.  It's the place you'll always remember: the place where you felt the innocence and beauty of life; the place where you fell in love.

When Mr. Tringali created his own publishing company, it was only natural for him to put it in a town he loved -- a town he called Calkins Harbor.

Why Calkins?  Well, a lady by the name of Jane Calkins who lived in 1822 was Mr. Tringali's biological great-great grandmother, and although they never met (few of us ever meet a great-great grandparent), he built a character around her.  You can read all about her and the wonderful characters who inhabit Cap'n Kelly's Marina in Mr. Tringali's next book, Harbor of Refuge, a novel about life and love, and what it really means to be a family.

If you'd like to know more about Mr. Tringali's search for his birth family, you can read about it in "I Was That Baby."  And if you've ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of a yacht club, you might want to read "Yachting Customs and Courtesies," which has become "the bible" of club protocol.

In the meantime, if you have some ideas about yachting etiquette, or about adoption, or about anything at all, just click this address to send him an e-mail at:

or call him direct at (561) 906-4642.
