Senior Navigator and Life Member . . . a lifetime of education and service.
Joseph A. Tringali began his life-long journey with United States Power Squadrons when he was still in high
school. "I took the introductory course -- in those days it was called 'Piloting, Seamanship and Small Boat Handling'
-- at Hamburg Power Squadron during my senior year," Joe recalls. "I was the youngest person in the class.
I loved doing the navigation problems and laying out course lines on a chart."
"My father died a couple of weeks before my high school graduation, and my mother and I moved into Buffalo.
The Squadron, like many other things, was put on hold while I went to college. I picked it up again
when I was in law school, and along with taking the advanced grade courses, I became involved in the life of Buffalo Power
Squadron. I was elected commander in 1981."
